What is vitamin B deficiency?

Vitamin B deficiency happens when your body doesn’t have enough vitamin B. This happens if you don’t eat food with vitamin B or because of a health condition. Your body needs a certain amount of each type of vitamin B to function well. The different types of vitamin B are all water-soluble (dissolves in water), which means that they cannot be stored in the body and must be consumed regularly to avoid deficiency.

What are the symptoms of vitamin B deficiency?

People with vitamin B deficiency may experience:

  • fatigue, weakness or a general lack of energy
  • numbness or tingling in their hands and feet
  • weakened muscles and slow reflexes
  • ‘shakiness’ when walking or difficulty keeping balance

Secret limits to stop ‘suspicious’ Xanax and Adderall orders are forcing some legitimate patients to scramble

In July, limits went into effect that flag and sometimes block pharmacies’ orders of controlled substances such as Adderall and Xanax when they exceed a certain threshold. The requirement stems from a 2021 settlement with the US’s three largest drug distributors — AmerisourceBergen Corp., Cardinal Health Inc. and McKesson Corp. But pharmacists said it curtails their ability to fill prescriptions for many different types of controlled substances — not just opioids.

The Children’s Hospital Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics told the Biden administration that “unprecedented levels” of RSV combined with increasing flu circulation are pushing some hospitals to the breaking point.

They asked the federal government to declare an emergency to provide hospitals with added flexibility to meet the surge.

Infants 6 months and younger are getting hospitalized with RSV at seven times the rate observed before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2018, according to CDC data.
