Experts confirm gender identity is biological and say insurers should cover trans health needs –ThinkProgress:

“The Endocrine Society, an international organization of medical experts and biological researchers, has released a new set of guidelines for caring for transgender patients. Along with the guidelines, the organization has issued a position statement calling on federal and private insurers to cover the costs of all medical interventions a physician might prescribe for a transgender patient, including hormone replacement therapies and surgeries.”

Also, just so you know, the original headline of this post was ‘I’m a trans woman and I want to die’ but I don’t want to scare my mom, so I changed it. I’m a ‘prominent’ trans woman on the internet and this last month has been one of the worst of my life.”

Ouch

A while ago I made the mistake of eating too many Cool Ranch Doritos and tore up my cheek and gums. Now it seems I have a minor infection which is causing some discomfort. Add to that ripping up some skin from my forearm and bleeding like a stuck pig, this has turned out to be one heck of a day. 😳
